The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune receives phone call from Egyptian counterpart

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received Wednesday a phone call from his brother, the President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in which he expressed his condolences and solidarity, in his name and on behalf of Egypt’s people, government and institutions, following the recent fires that Algeria has witnessed, the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.

 "The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, received today a phone call from his brother, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, in which he expressed his condolences and solidarity, in his name and on behalf of Egypt’s people, government and institutions, following the fires that have struck Algeria and claimed victims," said the statement.

 "The two leaders reviewed the excellent bilateral relations between Algeria and Egypt, and also discussed the situations in Palestine, the Middle East, the Gulf and the Arab world, stressing the need to pursue peaceful solutions to all conflicts and tensions in the region", the statement added.

The call was also "an opportunity to discuss the situation in Libya and the need to work toward overcoming the current difficult circumstances there."   

"The two Presidents finally agreed to meet in the near future," the statement noted.
