President Tebboune chairs Council of Ministers meeting

The President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, is chairing a Council of Ministers meeting today, Sunday September 06, 2026, covering the draft Penal Code, along with presentations on preparations for the new school year and progress updates on several strategic projects, the Presidency of the Republic said in a press release.

"The President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence, is chairing today a Council of Ministers meeting covering the draft Penal Code, as well as presentations on preparations for the 2026-2027 school year and progress updates on the following strategic projects: Bled El Hadba–Oued El Kebrit–Annaba Port mining railway line, the mining quay as part of the expansion of Annaba Port, and El Meniaa–In Salah–Tamanrasset railway line," said the source.

The meeting is also addressing the new Ouargla–Hassi Messaoud railway line, added the source.
