Celebration of the 63rd Independence Day: July 5, 1962 –2025, under the slogan "Our Algeria… The Legacy of the Martyrs and the Glory of the Loyal."

The Embassy of Algeria in Abuja organized today, 5th of July 2025, a ceremony to celebrate the 63th Anniversary of Independence and Youth Day, held at the Chancery Hall, and attended by all Embassy staff.
The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem, a minute of silence, and the reading of the Fatiha from the Holy Quran.
Ambassador Hocine MEZOUED delivered remarks on the occasion, highlighted the significance of this historical day which marked not only the end of the glorious Algerian revolution from 1954 to 1962 but also the end of a brutal and inhuman occupation which lasted 132 years.
Ambassador MEZOUED added that as we stand today in remembrance of the the brave martyrs, who sacrificed their lives so that our nation could live free and sovereign, after an arduous struggle against colonialism, we renew our pledge to them and our loyalty to their great sacrifices to preserve the sovereignty of our country and protect national gains, through cohesion, solidarity and patriotic vigilance, which must remain, as emphasized Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, yesterday in his message to the nation, on this occasion, the strongest bulwark protecting nations from upheavals and covetousness.
